Shreveport-Bossier’s quarterly Be a Fan Ambassador Tour is basically a full-day, all-inclusive tour of the area for only $25. The tour is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Think of it as an adult field trip hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. The tour includes transportation, exclusive insight at stops along the tour, lunch, and a graduation ceremony. It’s the most immersive and inexpensive experience that you can take in. Each ambassador tour has a different theme. This one is “Chillin’ on Line Avenue.”
Line Avenue is a ten-mile stretch from downtown Shreveport and through the historic Highland neighborhood, which is known for its unique shops, local eateries, and eccentric neighborhood vibes. This tour will give you the opportunity to take a break from the hot summer days and chill out in Shreveport-Bossier by exploring all this popular thoroughfare has to offer. Throughout the tour, you will also learn historical tidbits about the area as you pass significant landmarks that tell the tales of Shreveport’s Line Avenue.
Tour participants will start the day with a short orientation at the Downtown Shreveport Visitor Center, then board a bus and tour their way through Line Avenue. Some of the fun stops include a taste of Tony’s Liquor famous daiquiris, boutique shopping, fishing, a private tour of R.W. Norton Art Gallery, and more. Lunch will be at Giuseppe’s Pastacaffé, an Italian restaurant known for their authentic flavors and spices, as well as artisan handmade pastas and desserts. The tour will end at Sweetport, where we can chill out and relax before the final departure. Expect to receive more than what you bargained for, so grab your TICKETS NOW because seating is limited.
The day will end with tour participants “graduating” and officially becoming a “Be a Fan of Shreveport-Bossier” Ambassador, a title to wear loud and proud. The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau offers ambassador tours on a quarterly basis. The purpose of these daylong tours is to create ambassadors for the area and to educate the hospitality industry, locals, and civic leaders about the economic importance of tourism to a thriving Shreveport-Bossier economy.
