It’s PRIDE month! There are several ways to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in Shreveport-Bossier. Whether your pronouns are she, he, them, or they, we like to include all of us in our Louisiana fun. If you’re seeking drag events, we have so many of those. If you want to eat some rainbow-colored foods, we have those too. However you choose to celebrate PRIDE month is up to you, but here’s how Shreveport celebrates the LGBTQ+ community:

PRIDE Disco at the Korner Lounge, Saturday, June 11

PRIDE Disco will offer all the vibrant, high-energy vibes that you’re seeking during PRIDE month. Based on the popularly used LGBTQ+ anthem, “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross and a lifting of pandemic restrictions, this disco party’s theme is “I’m Coming Out of the House.” The event will feature a drag show, costume contest, PRIDE-themed cocktails, live DJ and more. Field Gay at A.C. Steere Park, Saturday, June 26

Field Gay is just like your childhood, but more colorful than you remember it. Spend a day reliving your childhood memories with more than 10 traditional field day games, including tug of war, a three-legged race, kickball semifinals and more. You can sign up with a team or participate as an individual. This nostalgic outdoor event is a spin on “field day,” but you are competing for more than metals. All proceeds will benefit The Philadelphia Center, which provides HIV and AIDS resources in north Louisiana. Click here to register.

Play Drag Bingo Every Sunday at The Korner Lounge

The Korner Lounge opened in the late 1930s and is one of the oldest, continuously operating gay bars in the nation. They’re known to keep the party going with weekday drink specials and events, including karaoke on Thursday and Saturdays, trivia on Wednesdays, and drag bingo on Sundays, as well as drinks as low as $2.25 on Tuesdays.
