Summer is here, and—even though the dumpster fire that is 2020 has many of us limiting nonessential travel—you never know when you may need a good deal on a hotel room. As 2020 has proven, it can and will get as chaotic as it wants. Maybe your least-favorite out-of-town family member will drop in for an extended stay. Perhaps murder hornets will infest the air ducts of your house. Or, maybe, you will just desperately need unlimited access to a nice hotel pool for 24 hours because there’s a lot going on.
If any of these situations transpire, please consider booking your stay using one of these valuable hotel/restaurant/attraction packages put together by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau and its partners. And yes, I know, this is a pretty sales-y blog post, but here’s the deal: these packages actually are valuable. And we could all use a little extra money right now. The packages are good through Aug. 31. Please note that to receive the package of goodies you must book your room here.
Let’s assume you book a studio king for $99 at the Residence Inn Shreveport Bossier Downtown (pictured in featured image), one of several participating hotels. If you book one of these special packages, you’ll receive a card entitling you to a bunch of discounts when you check-in. Businesses offering discounts include popular restaurants like Ki Mexico and attractions like S-B Rides, Bayou Axe Co., and more. If you use the card to its full potential, you could save nearly half of what you spent on the hotel room, eat well, and have a lot of fun.
If I were doing this myself (and I might), here’s how I may do it:
BOGO Sci-Port Discovery Center admission for two
15% off lunch and drinks for two at Ki Mexico (assuming $50 total)
10% off a shopping trip at The Agora Borealis (assuming $100 total)
10% off brunch and drinks for two at Flying Heart Brewing & Pub (assuming $50 total)
10% off an hour of axe-throwing for two at Bayou Axe Co.
Free beignets with dinner at Marilynn’s Place
Total Savings: $41.90
If you or someone you know could use a little staycation or weekend getaway this summer (couldn’t we all?) please let them know about these great packages.
