One thing’s for sure about any visit to Louisiana: You will not be under-fed during your stay. The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, publishers of 20×49.com, would like to make absolutely certain that’s the case by treating any visitors who are in town for the upcoming Krewe of Centaur and Krewe of Gemini parades to a free slice of king cake. Just stop by the Tourist Bureau’s Downtown Shreveport Visitor Center at 629 Spring Street, 8 a.m. ’til 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 and Friday, Feb. 21, for your free slice. Limit one per visitor, while supplies last!

RSVP to the Facebook event for free king cake!

There’s no catch. Just come say hi, and we’ll gladly share a slice of king cake from a great local bakery. Of course, you’d also be welcome to pick up a free copy of The Gris Gris Guide to Mardi Gras in Shreveport-Bossier (view or download) or the 2020 Official Visitors’ Guide to Shreveport-Bossier (view or download). You could also grab free copies of local publications or visitor guides, as well as rack cards and information from hundreds of attractions in Shreveport-Bossier and elsewhere in Louisiana.

Curious about where to park? There’s a small parking lot in front of our building, as well as free parking alongside the huge, colorful mural that faces Crockett Street. Here’s the building that you’re looking for:

The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau’s Downtown Shreveport Visitor Center at 629 Spring Street.

And here’s that colorful mural, which offers some free, short-term parking for visitors. If you’re coming off of I-20, you’ll likely notice the mural before you notice the building itself. It’s hard to miss.

“A Call to Action,” a mural by Ali Bahler, can be seen on the south-facing side of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau’s Downtown Shreveport Visitors Center.

So, whether you’re a visitor in town for Mardi Gras festivities or a local who’ll be hosting guests for the parades, we hope to see you in our lobby for a free slice of king cake. It’s our small way of saying “thank you for visiting and come back soon.”
