The SBC Zombie Walk will rise from its shallow grave to delight fans of the zombie horror genre this Saturday, Oct. 19, 4-9 p.m. For the 2019 event, the SBC Zombie Walk will relocate from downtown Shreveport to Bossier City’s new East Bank District and Plaza. This outrageous yet family-friendly annual event has brought together hordes of zombies for the benefit of various good causes since 2008.

RSVP to the 2019 SBC Zombie Walk on Facebook.

Admission is free, but organizers ask that all participants bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items to donate to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. There’ll be a zombie costume contest (with separate categories for kids and adults), door prizes, a LifeShare blood drive, food trucks, vendors, live music by Trepid, and more. Anyone who hopes to compete in the zombie costume contest should arrive before 6 p.m.

There’s so much going on during the SBC Zombie Walk that we invited Alex Richardson of the Bossier Arts Council to walk us through the day’s events on 20×49 Live. Here’s my conversation with Alex:

If you plan on attending the 2019 SBC Zombie Walk and posting photos to social media, use the hashtag #SBFunSide and you’ll automatically be entered to win a share of $1,000 in cash prizes. Learn more about the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau’s year-long contest here, or read the complete contest rules here.

Speaking of winning: There’s still time to enter to win a fall getaway package worth more than $425 – including restaurant gift certificates, hotel accommodations and more – from the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. Submit your entries before Nov. 2.
