The 113th State Fair of Louisiana will be held, Oct. 24-Nov. 12, 2019, at the State Fairgrounds in Shreveport. My favorite attraction at the State Fair (besides the food, obviously) is the live music. Free, nightly concerts are included with admission to the State Fair and there are always a few acts that I’m excited to see.

If you’ve never seen Southern Soul crooner Bigg Robb live in concert, mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 9, 9 p.m. at the State Fair of Louisiana. Bigg Robb doesn’t perform locally too often, but when he does, it’s always an unbelievable spectacle. I caught his act several years ago at Shreveport’s Let the Good Times Roll Festival, where his numerous, elaborate costume changes included a neon orange, camouflage onesie as well as a mirror ball suit the likes of which I had never seen. Bigg Robb will be co-headlining the gig with Cupid, who’ll take the stage at 7 p.m. The show is listed as a “full band show.”

What’s so great about Bigg Robb in concert? Beyond the outlandish costume changes, there are the songs. Bigg Robb performs “grown and sexy” R&B with song titles like “If I Get Drunk Tonight,” “Good Lovin’ (Will Make You Cry),” and “I Want a Big Woman for Christmas.”

So, if you’re grown, sexy, and in the mood for a really unique live concert, I highly recommend experiencing Bigg Robb in concert on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the State Fair of Louisiana. By the time his set wrapped up at the Let the Good Times Roll Festival, my face hurt from grinning. It’s that kind of a show.
