Here at 20×49.com, the official destination blog of Shreveport-Bossier, nothing makes us happier than giving cool stuff away. We’ve just secured a couple of promotional general admission passes to the Ark-La-Tex Craft Beer and Barbecue Festival, coming up this Saturday, March 9, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. These tickets are valued at $65 each and include admission to a sampling of more than 30 craft brews (including several that are not otherwise available in Northwest Louisiana), barbecue meal, tasting glass, koozie and lanyard. You must be 21 years of age or older in order to enter this giveaway, and a state-issued ID will be required in order to pick up the prize.

So, how do you enter? Just e-mail me at CJay@sbctb.org with the subject line “Beer and Brisket” before 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 7. One winner of two general admission passes (value $130) will be drawn and notified by 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 7. The winner will need to be able to pick the passes up in-person before 5 p.m. on Friday, March 8. This prize is non-transferable, and this contest is not associated with or affiliated with Facebook or Twitter in any way.

The beautiful Louisiana State Exhibit Museum in Shreveport will be the setting for the Ark-La-Tex Craft Beer and Barbecue Festival on Saturday, March 9.

If you love beer and barbecue as much as I do, you’ll want to check out the list of participating breweries for this festival. The festival appears to be aiming for quality over quantity, with many of the best regional breweries participating. The brand spanking new Cane River Brewing Company out of Natchitoches, makers of a killer pilsner, will be there, as will Huckleberry Brewing Co. from Alexandria and Great Raft Brewing and Red River Brewing Company from here in Shreveport.  The Dallas-Ft. Worth brewing scene will also send several breweries including Celestial BeerworksTurning Point Beer and 3 Nations Brewing. All in all, there should be a lot at this event for craft beer folks to enjoy.

If you’d rather not rely on luck to secure tickets to the festival, you can also purchase them here. Celebrate responsibly and please don’t drink and drive, y’all.
