Are you a photographer, or do you know an aspiring photographer? The Shreveport Times just launched their third annual Times Photo Contest, and the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau (publishers of this blog) will be providing some great prizes and helping to judge the photo entries. First place prize includes a $100 cash card, one-night stay and buffet for two at DiamondJacks Casino and Hotel, as well as publication in a variety of local media outlets and on billboards around town. This annual photography contest is open to visitors as well as locals. All kinds of photos are welcome – no particular subject is required – but, for organizers and the public, this contest is a great opportunity to see Shreveport-Bossier through the lenses of local photographers. Subjects in past years’ contests have included nature, architecture, pets, people, and more.
“I look forward to the contest not only to see how the community captures my favorite spots, but also to discover places I didn’t know about,” said Michelle Marcotte of The Shreveport Times.
To enter the contest, e-mail your photo entries in .JPEG format to Hwildsmith@gannett.com with the subject line “Photo Contest.” Include your name and the title of your photo. Up to five entries may be submitted for each entrant, but please submit the entries in separate e-mails. Entries must be received by July 15 and the top 50 photos will be announced on Aug. 1. A winner will be announced on Aug. 15.
