One thing about 318 Restaurant Week, which is coming up March 13-17, 2018: Historically, it has not been the most health-conscious event. We are in Louisiana, after all, and there’s no shortage of deep-fried, buttery, decadent goodies to indulge in during a citywide restaurant week. However, Shelly Marie Redmond, MS, RD, LDN – founder of Skinny Louisiana – has done something really wonderful for 2018. Riverview Rendezvous with a Skinny Louisiana Twist will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14 at Riverview Restaurant and Brewhouse. Tickets are $40 each and may be purchased here. Complete event details are available at SBFunGuide.com. The evening will include three great-sounding courses of food as well as a low-carb cocktail (the handsome margarita pictured above) or wine. The meal will also include an educational component, with Redmond discussing simple techniques and ingredients “to make your own personal courses lower-carb, heart-healthy and taste delicious” and demonstrating a healthy party dip from start to finish.
As more and more folks opt for healthier options at home and when dining out, it’s great to have someone like Redmond on-board and bringing a healthier point of view to 318 Restaurant Week.
