318 Restaurant Week returns for its third installment, March 13-17, 2018, and the website’s been updated with daily lunch and dinner offers from about 30 restaurants as well as several one-night-only dining experiences, a giveaway and more. I’ve been looking through the lunch and dinner standouts and wanted to share a few of the deals that I’m most excited about. As in past years, there are definitely a few restaurants that have taken the “throw in an iced tea and call it a special offer” approach, but there are also lots of genuinely good deals. Watch 20×49.com for lots, lots more info on 318 Restaurant Week.
Here are five of our favorite deals from the current 318 Restaurant Week line-up of $10 lunch and $20 dinner specials:
Twisted Root Burger Company (Both Locations)
“The All-American Meal”: A half-pound bacon cheeseburger, a side of hand-cut fries and a root beer float for $10? By our guess, that’s about a 40% discount, or the equivalent of a free root beer float. And who couldn’t use a free root beer float?

Southern Faire
In a cool little cottage off of Line Avenue, Cindy Gleason Johnson has been quietly catering group luncheons, making high-end king cakes and more. During 318 Restaurant Week only, she’ll be serving up her take on the famous Shreveport-style stuffed shrimp.
It isn’t the price of this offer that I find exciting so much as the opportunity to try a classic Shreveport dish as imagined by Johnson. Get an order of stuffed shrimp with sweet potato fries and coleslaw for $10. Reservations recommended.
Don Juanz Baja Beach Tacos (Both Locations)
A trio of tacos including the three most popular tacos at Don Juanz would normally run about $12.50, so this amounts to a 25% discount. If you’ve wanted to try, for example, the restaurant’s sushi-grade yellowfin tuna tacos, which are normally $4.99 each if ordered a la carte, here’s a nice opportunity to try those tacos while saving a little cash.
Frank’s Pizza Napoletana
By my count, the Frank’s Pizza lunch offer – which includes a really delicious-sounding panini filled with olive tapenade, homemade mozzarella, roasted red and yellow peppers, Soppressata and Prosciutto di Parma as well as a cup of the day’s soup and a scoop of homemade gelato – would run you about $16 if ordered a la carte. So, yeah, a 60% discount at Frank’s Pizza Napoletana? Sign me up.
Parish Taceaux
Once again, Parish Taceaux has gone absolutely bonkers in planning their daily lunch specials for 318 Restaurant Week. There are chicken fried steak taceauxs topped with country gravy and hot water cornbread crumbles (Wednesday) and surf and turf taceauxs (Friday)…it’s a lot to take in. I don’t know what else I’ll eat during 318 Restaurant Week, but I can 100% guarantee that I’ll eat one of those insane-sounding chicken fried steak taceauxs.
Sponsors of 318 Restaurant Week include the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, The Times, Waitr, ANECA Federal Credit Union, KSLA, and Cumulus Media.
