A Complete Guide to Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival

The 2017 edition of Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25. With festival activities beginning at 4 p.m. at Riverview Park in Shreveport and Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets in Bossier City, there’s a lot going on. We thought we’d outline exactly what’ll be taking place on each side of the river to help festival-goers plan their evening. You can also RSVP to the official Facebook event for updates.

General Info
Admission to the festival is free on both sides of the Red River
The fireworks show, by Pyromania Fireworks, LLC, is planned for 6:45 p.m.
The first 500 children to arrive on each side will receive a free gift
#RocketsOvertheRed is the event hashtag and there’s a Snapchat filter for the night

Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets (Bossier City side)
The Joanitones will perform live music, 4-6 p.m., on a stage near the main fountain
The Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 6 p.m., with three local cheer and dance groups performing as well as comments from Bossier City Mayor Lorenz “Lo” Walker
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos near the Christmas tree closest to the carousel – bring your camera!
Local beauty queens will be on-hand near the carousel to assist with Santa photos
Inflatables (bounce houses) by Garrison Party Rentals will be located in the grassy space near the main fountain (there will be a charge for bounce houses at Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets)
The “Boardwalk Blizzard” snow machines will be on at 12:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Stores at Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets will be open until 10 p.m.

Santa Bob and Mrs. Beth Claus will be available for photos at Riverview Park in downtown Shreveport during Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival on Saturday, Nov. 25.

Riverview Park (Shreveport side)
Entertainment will be provided by Twirlers in Motion, Westwood Leadership Academy, Southwood High School and Praise Temple Anointed Voices of Praise beginning at 4 p.m.
Chip “The Fat Man” Arledge of Cumulus Shreveport will serve as master of ceremonies, with a welcome from Shreveport Mayor Ollie Tyler
Santa Bob and Mrs. Beth Claus will be available for photos with Santa’s sleigh – bring your camera!
Local beauty queens will be on-hand to assist with Santa photos
The Warrior Network will offer a kid zone play area by donation (admission fee is what you care to donate)
Weather permitting, tethered hot air balloon rides will be available at a cost of $20 per adult and $15 per child
Food trucks on-hand will be Johnny’s Pizza, Duck Food and WonderStick Ice Cream
“Snow” will fall at the top of every hour, 4-7 p.m.
Praise Temple Anointed Voices of Praise will be selling hot cocoa
Clyde Fant Parkway will close to traffic 20 minutes before the fireworks show, at approximately 6:25 p.m.
