Four Winds to Host Eight-Course Dinner During 318 Restaurant Week

Four Winds, an Asian restaurant located inside of Horseshoe Bossier City, serves food inspired by Cantonese, Mandarin, Szechwan, Vietnamese and Thai cooking. With so many different cuisines on the menu, it makes sense that their 318 Restaurant Week event, “The Walk of Four Winds”, has the largest menu of any of the 10 special, one-night-only dining experiences taking place during 318 Restaurant Week. “The Walk of Four Winds” will be held, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Cost to attend the eight-course meal is $60 per person, and guests must RSVP in advance via Eventbrite in order to attend. The evening will be hosted by Alex Stinchcomb of the Bossier Arts Council.

The menu will include:

Sushi and spring roll display with dipping sauces, paired with a red lotus cocktail
Lemon grass soup with shrimp, straw mushrooms and cilantro in a spicy Thai broth, paired with Gekkeikan sake
Crab rangoon, paired with Tsingtao beer
Wok-fried sea bass with a ginger-soy sauce
Crispy orange skin beef with fresh scallions, chili peppers and dried orange skins
Young chow fried rice
Stir-fried gai lan with mushrooms, paired with Maso Canali pinot grigio
A lychee mousse bombe, paired with Kikkoman plum wine

During my recent visit to Four Winds, I was impressed by the artful presentation of the dishes as well as the warmly attentive and jovial service. The Four Winds version of orange skin beef, a Chinese-American staple made popular by a national Chinese takeout chain, is the best that I’ve had. The differentiating factor? Instead of being soggy or chewy, every ultra-thin morsel of steak was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside.

Tucked away inside of Horseshoe Bossier City, Four Winds is one of those restaurants that many local food lovers have heard about but have yet to try. “The Walk of Four Winds”, with eight courses of food and five beverage pairings, seems like a great opportunity to get acquainted with the uncommonly broad scope of the Four Winds menu.
