The 41st annual Red River Revel Arts Festival headliners have been announced. The festival will take place, Oct. 1-8, 2016, at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport. Along with live music from national headliners as well as local and regional bands, the festival will include artistic performances on four stages, 108 visual artist booths, 23 food booths and more. According to a press release issued today:
“Headliners for the 41st annual Red River Revel include: The Polyphonic Spree in conjunction with Louisiana Music Prize (10/1); God is on the Move Tour ft. 7eventh Time Down and Audio Adrenaline (10/2); Judah & the Lion (10/5); The Revivalists / Lance Lopez (10/6); The Mother Truckers / The Kentucky Headhunters (10/7); and A Thousand Horses (10/8). Revel favorites Trout Fishing in America and Dana Louise and the Glorious Birds will return to delight their loyal fans (10/7 & 10/8). Newcomers Be the Groove and Sally & George will entertain festival attendees and provide arts education components throughout the festival.”
Admission to the festival is as reasonably priced as always. Admission is $5 on weekends and after 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, free on Monday, and free any day with a valid military ID. Eight-day passes, which include admission to the entire festival, may be purchased for $10.

Another big live music event, the Louisiana Music Prize, will be taking place in downtown Shreveport, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, and will feature performances by Beach Slang, K. Flay, The Bluebonnets, Kyle Craft and a roster of artists competing to win a cash prize of $5,000.
