Each year during the first full week of May, the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau takes part in National Travel and Tourism Week. We host our annual P.R.I.D.E. Awards – the local tourism and hospitality industry’s biggest awards ceremony – during National Travel and Tourism Week. We also organize media appearances, public events and other ways to highlight the importance of travel and tourism to Shreveport-Bossier’s economy.
This year, on top of all of that good stuff, we’re giving away a “staycation” prize package as well as a bundle of exclusive discounts being offered by local attractions like Sci-Port Discovery Center, the Marlene Yu Museum, iFlyH2O (formerly Ark-La-Tex Flyboard), Holiday Lanes and many more. A few of my favorite discounts included in the package are: 50% discount on flyboarding with iFlyH2O (formerly Ark-La-Tex Flyboard), May 1-31 with promotional code; buy-one-get-one-free bowling games at Holiday Lanes; free admission to the Marlene Yu Museum, May 1-7; two-for-one “Busted Coconut” signature drinks at Margaritaville Bossier City‘s Busted Coconut Bar; and more.
