Great Raft Brewing in Shreveport was recently named the first “bicycle friendly business” in the State of Louisiana by the League of American Cyclists, receiving a silver Bicycle Friendly Business (BFBSM) award on Dec. 10, 2015. According to a press release, “more than 1,090 local businesses, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies in 49 states and Washington, D.C.” have been named bicycle friendly by the League of American Cyclists.

One way that Great Raft is celebrating this designation is by raffling off a pretty great-looking Great Raft Brewing cruiser. Raffle tickets are $1 each and are on sale through Dec. 19 in the Great Raft tasting room located at 1251 Dalzell Street in Shreveport. The winner of the bike will be contacted on Saturday, Dec. 19. If you’re 21 years of age or older and you’ve got a local craft beer lover on your holiday shopping list, there are worse things that could end up under the tree than this great-looking, collectible bike.
To make the deal even sweeter, Great Raft Brewing will set aside 100% of the proceeds from this raffle for “a brewery bike fund that will be used to purchase tools and materials for a public-use bike repair station and other bike-friendly amenities.” How cool is that? If you feel like pedaling over to buy some raffle tickets, go ahead; two of the reasons that Great Raft Brewing was named “bike friendly” are the well-lit bike racks and a standing discount of $1 off pints of beer for anyone who arrives by bicycle.
