Sainte Terre, Remington Suite Hotel Announce Foodie-Friendly Holiday Parties

Holiday parties tend to come together at the last minute in Shreveport-Bossier, but that doesn’t seem to be the case in 2015. Two year-end shindigs recently announced by The Remington Suite Hotel and Sainte Terre appear to have been especially designed to cater to Shreveport-Bossier’s growing community of food lovers.

Sainte Terre, a wedding and event space located in Benton, is throwing an event called “The Fireside Social” on Saturday, Dec. 19 (Facebook event link). The incredible-looking menu prepared by Sainte Terre co-owner and chef Holly Schrieber (previously blogged about on 20×49.com here) features everything from pulled duck dumplings and truffle fry poutine to espresso cocoa-crusted lamb chops and fig and bacon venison skewers. Other baller offerings include a cigar and bourbon bar, a “wall of holiday punches,” live acoustic music by Elms District and an open bar until 9:30 p.m. Mostly all-inclusive tickets are $85 and can be purchased here. The party is 21 and up and tickets must be purchased in advance – tickets won’t be sold at the door.

The Remington Suite Hotel in downtown Shreveport will host Clink 2015 on New Year’s Eve.

Clink 2015 at The Remington Suite Hotel (Facebook event link) is a New Year’s Eve party being hosted by The Remington Suite Hotel and Mahaffey Farms with another buzzed-about local chef doing the cooking. The Mahaffey Farms folks have hired Gabriel Balderas for this event (of farmers’ market pop-up El Cabo Verde) to use their outstanding locally grown meats and vegetables in preparing items like wood fire-roasted pork with parsnips, butternut squash, heirloom carrots, Brussels sprouts and spiced apple chutney. Even the cabbage at this party sounds amazing: “Roasted Organic Red Cabbage, Local Spiced Pecans, Haute Goat Creamery Fresh Cheese, Aged Balsamic Vinegar, Sherry Wine.”

Tickets are $20 just to attend or $125 for an all-inclusive ticket featuring the meal, an open bar and other goodies. Check out the ticketing website for the most complete event description or to buy tickets.

If you go to either of these parties, be safe and please don’t drink and drive.
