Several Local Eateries to be Featured in New Cooking Channel Show

Big Bad BBQ Battle – a new, barbecue-themed reality television program on Cooking Channel – will feature several well-known Shreveport-Bossier businesses and filming locations in an episode that will debut at 7:30 p.m. CST on Sunday, May 31 (technically, the episode looks slated to debut that morning at 12:30 a.m., but the evening showtime seems like a more suitable premiere to promote!).

Food lovers who are familiar with Shreveport-Bossier’s restaurant scene will recognize several familiar faces in the episode. During the program, Big Bad BBQ Battle hosts Shannon and Rich, of Brooklyn-based Come N’ Get It Gourmet BBQ, will face off in a “pulled pork battle” against Shreveport’s Hickory Stick BBQ. Along the way, Shannon and Rich also cross paths with pit master Harvey Clay of Shreveport’s Real BBQ & More as well as the Andre’ family, proprietors of Bergeron’s Boudin and Cajun Meats locations in Shreveport and Bossier City. Judges for the competition include Chef Anthony Felan of Wine Country Bistro and Bottle Shop and Lydia Earhart, editor of The Forum/CityLife. There are lots of local locations in the show, including the beautiful Dixie Gin event space.
