The second annual celebration of Louisiana Craft Brewers Week (the first was held in September 2013) finds Shreveport-Bossier with a whole lot more ways to celebrate than we had in 2013. From new beer launch parties to tap takeovers, it’s a fun week to be a craft beer lover in Shreveport-Bossier.
As you’d expect, Great Raft Brewing has a lot going on for Louisiana Craft Brewers Week. Twisted Root Burger Company and Great Raft are hosting a launch event (Facebook event link) for Great Raft’s new India Pale Lager, “At Arm’s Length,” at Twisted Root Burger Company in Shreveport, 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24. Great Raft Brewing is also hosting the Great Raft Cupcake Challenge (Facebook event link), 4-8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26 at the brewery and tasting room.
Bayou Teche Biere of Arnaudville, La. will be bringing some exclusive beer offerings to Shreveport for a pint night (Facebook event link) beginning at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Rotolo’s Pizzeria in Shreveport. One of the beers being featured at the Bayou Teche event, Teche Hombres, has previously only been available at that brewery’s tasting room in Acadiana. Other beers on tap will be a barrel aged honey ale called Miel Sauvage, as well as the LA 31 Cocodrie and Biere Noir.
Twisted Root Burger Company will be hosting New Orleans’ NOLA Brewing for a “Tap Takeover” event (Facebook event link) beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25. The tentative list of beers that’ll be served that night includes seven offerings from NOLA Brewing, some of which don’t surface very often north of Interstate 10. Check out the list of beers being poured by using the Facebook link above.
We dug around in search of events that Red River Brewing Company may be a part of for Louisiana Craft Brewers Week, but couldn’t find any – please let us know if we’ve missed something!
