UPDATE: Please note that we have filled all of the available spaces in our reception for Thursday night – but please read on to learn about 20×49.com’s plans for 2015!
The blog that you’re reading, 20×49.com, started out simply as a place for the team of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, along with guest bloggers recruited from the Shreveport-Bossier community, to share news about exciting things happening in Shreveport-Bossier. Over the last three years, we’ve written about everything from festivals to food, local parks, local music history, iconic local architecture, feral hippos that inspired local craft beers – you name it it, we’ve celebrated it. Readership has grown each year – as of Sept. 16, 2014, about 186,300 readers have visited 20×49.com in 2014. Our first month, back in 2011, we had 500 readers. We want to say “thank you” to all of you for making that happen.
In 2015, we’re going to give the blog a little TLC. We don’t really know what that means, exactly, but we know that we’d like the blog to be more fun to read and to feature more multimedia content. Drawing inspiration from sources like the Oxford American‘s award-winning SoLost video series and the Southern Foodways Alliance’s Okracast podcast, we want to go way beyond the written word in 2015.
Thank you, sincerely, for being a part of the 20×49.com community.
