A minor Facebook meltdown took place recently when author, humorist and radio commentator David Sedaris‘ management posted a mysterious-looking Facebook event called “SHREVEPORT, LA – An Evening with David Sedaris.” Local Sedaris fans collectively squealed with joy, high-fived…and then immediately began to panic. Was this event really happening? When will tickets go on-sale? Is this real life? Turns out, it is real life. Sedaris will be performing (is that the right word to describe “reading and hanging out?”) at The Strand Theatre in downtown Shreveport on Friday, Oct. 25. See the promoter’s website here for official information.
Those tickets go on-sale to the general public on Monday, August 26 at 10 a.m. However, if you use the password “OWLS,” you can purchase tickets during a pre-sale event, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday, August 23. From the looks of it, tickets will be a reasonable $39.50 (the press release says that “additional fees may apply”), seating will be reserved, and the show will be all ages.
There are lots of ways to buy tickets starting at 10 a.m. on Friday. The Strand ticketing site is here, Jade Presents’ ticketing site is here, and The Strand box office can be reached by phone by calling (318) 226-8555.
