Bujie and the Highrise to play at Chicago’s

Shreveport has its own offering of reggae music with popular area favorites like the Stiff Necked Fools and The Dubonauts. However, this weekend, another band will showcase its own version of the Jamaican music genre when Bujie and the Highrise take the stage this weekend.

The New Orleans-by-way-of-Sulphur La. band is back in town again, this time playing Friday night, Oct. 26 at Chicago’s Hookah Room in downtown Shreveport for their Halloween Weekend event. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes to the concert. Bujie and the Highrise is known for firing up the crowd with their mix of classic dub reggae, roots reggae, ska, hip hop and progressive rock, which you can check out in their 3-single EP here.

Get a peek at what’s in store with this video of them performing “Fear is Not Real”  at a recent show in Lake Charles.
