The live music lineup for Shreveport-Bossier this weekend is filled with performances by rock and roll legends, a famous New Orleans brass band and a local favorite. Trying to decide which show to go to? Well, check out the hot tickets for this weekend:
Australian rockers Little River Band will take the stage 8 p.m., Friday night at The Strand Theatre. During the 1970s and 80s, this iconic band was known for its hit singles like Lonesome Loser and Cool Change. Decades later, they’ve released 28 albums, scored at least 13 U.S. Top 40 hits and numerous awards. Check out this 2010 live performance of their hit, Cool Change.
Later that Friday night, grab your handkerchief and second line over to Fatty Arbuckles on for an unforgettable evening with the Rebirth Brass Band, starting at 11 p.m. The Grammy Award-winning New Orleans brass band will once again perform live, bringing their unique brand of funk, jazz, soul and hip hop along with them.
The music of legendary band Creedence Clearwater Revival has continued to live on through Creedence Clearwater Revisited. Founded in 1995 by the original band’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rhythm section Stu Cook and Doug Clifford, Creedence Clearwater Revisited was originally just to play for private parties, but today they’ve grown to perform 100 shows a year, including this Saturday night, Aug. 4, 8 p.m., at Horseshoe Casino and Hotel.

Join in with Shreveport’s own The Matthew Davidson Band for “Back to School is Cool” held on Saturday afternoon at Pierre Bossier Mall. The band will perform live from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., followed by an autograph session. The free event, hosted by the mall and Fox 33 also will feature live music, a deejay, cool prizes and more.
