Nothing can get people talking like the sight of a tattoo on a person. Just the sight of one (or two, or three) can spark a flurry of questions about everything from why the person got them and what the tattoo means to how long it took and how bad did it hurt.
However, minicine? is offering the community a rare look into the art of the tattoo with The Esoteric Tradition of Tattoos. The exhibition opens at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 28 in downtown Shreveport and will feature a diverse mix of award-winning, professional tattoo artists from all over the world.

The star-studded lineup includes everyone from Shreveport-Bossier artists like Micah Harold, James Clements and Fortune and Glory Tattoo Parlor to Bergen, Norway’s Let’s Buzz and special guest and Mongolian artist Zayasaikhan Sambuu.
The exhibition will emphasize the various tattooing styles, including Japanese teborie, traditional American, new school and with live music by Stolen Pills, Dankhdjinn and fire-breathing performance artist Pete Fetterman.
Whether you have a tattoo, ever considered a tattoo, or are just curious about them, this exhibition is sure to offer a unique glimpse into what the phenomenon is all about why it remains so popular.
