This weekend is bursting with festive holiday performances in downtown Shreveport starting with a free sneak preview of “It’s a Wonderful Life” a performance at the Emmett Hook Center at First United Methodist Church. Tonight, Thursday, Dec. 8 stop by 550 Common Street at 7:30 p.m. and enjoy a dress rehearsal of the Christmas favorite. If your calendar is already booked you’ll have opportunities to see the performance on Friday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. as well as Sunday, Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. Tickets range from $12-$22. If you’re looking for a little Tony Award winning action this weekend, The Subject Was Roses featuring Donna McKechnie will open at Riverview Theatre, located at 601 Clyde Fant Parkway at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 9. The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play focuses on a young veteran returning from WWII adjusting to life and a new normal.
