So many fun, entertaining things are taking place this weekend in downtown Shreveport, and we don’t want you to miss any of it. Kicking off the weekend a day early (like we all love to do) is a performance of the hilarious Young Frankenstein at the Strand Theatre, located at 619 Louisiana Avenue. The show starts at 7p.m. tonight, Thursday, Oct. 20. Click here to learn more about purchasing tickets.
Also taking place this evening is the TNT Express “Takin’ It to the Streets” Arts Festival from 5-8 p.m. beginning at Artspace, located at 710 Texas Avenue. One of our favorite free events will feature downtown Shreveport’s famous larger than life outdoor murals and art galleries, as well as some Fall inspired sidewalk art, crafts and gifts from local artists. Click here for more information on tonight’s event.
Next on this weekend’s agenda is a Halloween peep show that you can catch, Thursday, Oct. 20- Saturday, Oct. 22 at 516 Texas Street. Bon Temps Burlesque’s “Peek A Boo” will feature neo burlesque (no nudity), jazz, lyrical and hip hop numbers that are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit. For more information and to purchase tickets click here. Hurry the shows sell out fast.
If you’re itching for a little edgy fun, look no further than the fifth annual Run with the Nuns all-bike rally, Friday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 22. New to downtown Shreveport this year, the philanthropic event will begin with a free outdoor movie, “Wild Hogs” on Friday night in the 600-700 blocks of Texas Street. While the live music, bike show and tattoo contest all make for a fantastically exciting affair, the event benefits children’s health in the region making it a huge hit for us.
