Carnival season has arrived in Louisiana, meaning that there are a ton of parades, parties, concerts and other events on the horizon. If you or someone you know could use a little help navigating all of the busy weekends ahead in Shreveport-Bossier, we hope that you’ll check out the brand spanking new, 2018 edition of The Gris Gris Guide to Mardi Gras in Shreveport-Bossier. This colorful, 21-page brochure can be downloaded here or viewed online here. Folks who live outside of Shreveport-Bossier can call 800-551-8682 to receive a free copy of the brochure by mail.
The Gris Gris Guide is more than just an event schedule. It’s packed with maps, parade day advice, recommended places to eat and drink, souvenir shop listings, and more. For this year’s brochure, we tried to squeeze in as much wonderful local stuff as possible, from the king cake cupcakes at Buttercups Cupcakes to the shark attack daiquiri at Alky Therapy. There’s local Mardi Gras lore, advice for navigating parade day road closures, and lots of pictures of locals dressed up in Mardi Gras finery.
The Gris Gris Guide is one of the most popular annual brochures that we produce at Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. It’s colorful, compact and – we hope – helpful for anyone who’s planning to visit Shreveport-Bossier during Carnival season.
P.S. If you’re reading this prior to Monday, Jan. 15, be sure to enter to win our Mardi Gras Vacation Giveaway! Two winners will win a huge gift package including the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride on a float in the Krewe of Highland Parade. Complete rules here.
